Welcome to our batik world!
Raised and born in Indonesia, I deeply take pride in our rich batik cultures that produce extraordinary works of art. Indonesia's batik has the most unique pattern inspired by various plants and animals living and growing in our thousands of tropical islands.
My first encounter with batik is when I was in primary school. The art teacher teaches us how to make a hand-drawn written batik (called batik tulis in here) which I need to use the melted wax to draw whatever I want on the fabric using a super cool tool called canting before the fabric is dyed with natural plant colorings. It looks like this below photo. I was screaming when mom bought me the batik-making kit. It consists of a small wok, stove, canting, and wax.
It was an unforgettable experience for me as a child especially how fascinated I am to see the results. I was just so proud!
Growing up, I finally decided to create this family-run business routing from my childhood crush with batik. We advocate the principles of fair trade, and we are committed to creating high-quality, long-lasting, cotton handmade batik fabric products that are ethically produced.
Our mission is to boldly bring Indonesia batik fabric accessible for people around the world. We hold the hands of local batik artisans, most of them are mothers and grandmas with extraordinary talent in batik art. It helps them to generate income while staying home, taking care of their families. Together, we hope to bring batik culture for the world to enjoy and cherish!
