History:

Not many companies can say they’ve been around for centuries, but we’re proud to be one of them. Founded in 1778, we’ve looked a little different over the years, ultimately becoming an online-only department store in 2021.

Previously found in 178 store locations throughout the UK, the Debenhams name has long been a household favourite in Fashion, Beauty and Home collections. 1993 saw the launch of ‘Designers at Debenhams’, introducing names such as Jasper Conran, Julien Macdonald and Henry Holland, propelling them into the style spotlight and becoming renowned as the go-to high street fashion brands.

Ultimately adopting a purely online presence, Debenhams was acquired by the Boohoo Group in January 2021 and launched in April of the same year.
